Your road to a Swedish driving license – in English!
1. Make sure you have a valid Swedish ID-card
You have to certify your identity when taking the eye test, riskcourses, and at the theory and driving tests.
2. Get a learners permit
Apply here Transportstyrelsen With the application, a result of an eye screening test must be attached. This can be done by an optician.
Even if you have a licence from other country outside the EES-aera you will need to apply for a learners permit.
3. Get a proper education
The picture below describes what is included in the training. .
Both Anna & Lena have many years of experience and can quickly assess which training interventions you need.
If you have a driving license from another country, you need to focus on the theory and then use your driving experience to adopt a Swedish driving style. Our recommendation will be a Pluspackage.
If you intend to practice driving privately your supervisor must have a supervisor's permit that proves that he/she is connected to you.

Suitable for those who have driven a lot at home. Also suitable for those who have had/have a driver's license from another country.

Plus package & 5 driving lessons.
This combination is suitable for those who have already practiced driving a lot or for those who want to start safely before the private practice begins.
Large package
Plus package & 10 driving lessons.
This combination is suitable for those who have their driving license in sight in the near future, 2-3 months and who combine driving lessons with many hours of private practice driving.
Optimala package
Plus package & 20 driving lessons.
This combination is suitable for those who have their driving license in sight in the near future, 2-3 months and who do not have time/possibility to practice privately.
4. Risk training is compulsory and consists of two parts
Risktraining Part 1, concerns risk behavior, tiredness and drugs.
Risktraining Part 2, concerns speed, safety and driving in special conditions. (Slippery road experience)
There is no need to participate Risk Part 1 before the Risk Part 2. The courses are independent from each other.
5. When you are done with the education it´s time to book an appointment for the driving test.
Book your appointment at Trafikverket or call Trafikverket 0771-171819. The driving test is divided into two parts, theory and practical. You must pass the theory test before you can take the driving test.
A pass in the theory test is valid for four months.
The theory test is available in Albanian, Arabic, Bosnian, English, Finnish, French, Croatian, Persian, Russian, Serbian, Somali, Sorani, Spanish, Thai, Tigrinja, Turkish and German
I took the classes with both Anna and Lena, both are very good instructors. I was able to clear both theory and driving test in my first attempt. The study app is very good for both understanding theory and questions. I highly recommend to people specially moving to Sweden from outside Europe for their Swedish Driving License.
